Organized by the Stony Brook Student Chapter of the American Medical Association, the purpose of the fair was for hospitals to seek talented Stony Brook students for their residency programs, as well as for medical students from other schools outside Stony Brook to understand more about Stony Brook residencies. The event generated interest in Stony Brook residency programs such as Preventive Medicine, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Psychiatry, Anesthesia, Physical Medicine/Rehabilitation, and Emergency Medicine.
The fair also provided a venue for residency directors to discuss the advancement of medical education and to network with regional colleagues and further build relationships between institutions.
